How to create an article table of contents and set it to post

• One approach is to use the Table of Contents module in Elementor, which automatically reads H headings from the content. Add this to your article page template, and it will be automatically generated for each article.

• One method is to manually edit the article using Elementor and manually add modules.

Install other similar plugins

There are many free plugins available for creating directories in WordPress. Here, we chose LuckyWP Table of Contents because it provides highly customizable and aesthetically pleasing results. However, this plugin has many settings that might initially seem confusing. Therefore, please follow our instructions to save your time.

1. Install and enable

• Then, go to the Table of Contents in Settings, and you will see the Settings screen.

There are four tabs to pay attention to: General, Appearance, Auto Insert, and Processing headings. These are tabs used to set and customize the table of contents display.

• Insert a table of contents into the article
• Automatic insertion

Go to the Auto Insert tab > Enable. The plugin defaults to Post (article). If you don’t want it, you can change it to another article type. In the “Location” section, select the location where you want to insert the table of contents. Don’t forget to click Save Changes!

At this point, all articles in the selected article type have a table of contents.

Manual insertion

Go to the “Process Titles” tab. There, also select the article type, and then click “Save Changes”.

Then, navigate to the editor for the article type you selected and click Enable Table of Contents.

• Custom directory display

There are many settings, such as title font size, item font size, link color, etc.

• Customize the table of contents for each article.

Once the final settings are complete, simply save them!
